We operate with zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking and take steps to ensure that our business and those of our suppliers are free from such practices.
We acknowledge our responsibilities under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
- Scope
This policy applies to:
- All employees of ALIAS Trading UK Ltd.
- Contractors, consultants, agency workers, and temporary staff.
- Suppliers and subcontractors, including manufacturers and service providers involved in the delivery of our products or services.
- Definitions
- Modern Slavery: Encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking.
- Human Trafficking: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, or receipt of persons through force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of exploitation.
- Our Commitments
ALIAS Trading UK Ltd commits to the following:
- Conducting due diligence on suppliers and third parties to assess and mitigate the risk of modern slavery.
- Including anti-slavery and human trafficking clauses in supplier contracts.
- Refusing to engage with suppliers or partners known or suspected to be involved in modern slavery.
- Providing clear routes for reporting concerns and protecting whistleblowers.
- Raising awareness and providing training to staff on identifying and reporting signs of exploitation.
- Reviewing this policy annually and updating practices to respond to evolving risks.
- Due Diligence and Supply Chain Risk Management
We recognise that our supply chain presents the greatest risk for exposure to modern slavery. Therefore, we take a risk-based approach to:
- Assess supplier policies and practices, especially in high-risk sectors or geographic regions.
- Require suppliers to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act and provide evidence upon request.
- Audit or assess suppliers where risks are identified or concerns are raised.
- Avoid doing business with suppliers who fail to implement appropriate controls or show a lack of transparency.
- Employee Responsibilities
All employees must:
- Understand the importance of preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Immediately report any concerns or suspicions of unethical conduct or abuse of workers in the business or supply chain.
- Cooperate fully in investigations and audits relating to compliance with this policy.
- Reporting and Whistleblowing
Any employee, supplier, or third party who suspects modern slavery or unethical labour practices must report their concerns to their line manager, a senior manager, or through the company’s confidential reporting process. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated thoroughly, and handled in confidence.
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith will not be tolerated.
- Training and Awareness
We will ensure that all relevant staff receive training on:
- The risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
- How to identify warning signs in the workplace or supply chain.
- How to report concerns safely and effectively.
Training will be updated as necessary and form part of the company’s broader compliance programme.
- Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or when there are significant changes to legislation, business operations, or risk exposure. Any necessary amendments will be approved by senior management.
