Live Signalling Cabinet Renewal
A deteriorated legacy signalling enclosure was replaced with a SafeBox RT double cabinet, manufactured to the measured site conditions and assembled around the existing operational equipment.

The brief
The existing enclosure had reached the end of its serviceable life. Corrosion and deteriorated panel joints were reducing its ability to protect critical signalling equipment from moisture, contamination and temperature-related stress.
The replacement solution had to retain the existing signalling rack and internal wiring, fit the established concrete base and minimise the operational impact of the work.
What we did
ALIAS completed a dimensional site survey and assessed the condition and compatibility of the existing base before manufacturing the replacement cabinet.
The modular SafeBox RT panels were then assembled around the existing signalling rack. Internal wiring, terminations and equipment connections remained undisturbed throughout the installation.
Cable entry points were mechanically protected and sealed, and the cabinet ventilation, access and locking systems were checked before handover.

The result
The existing signalling equipment was enclosed within a new rodent-resistant and passively thermo-regulated SafeBox RT cabinet during the same site intervention.
The original rack and internal wiring remained in place, while the replacement enclosure provided improved mechanical and environmental protection, controlled ventilation and safer maintenance access.
